Cynically one points out that the only real effort being made to mitigate stress caused by an aging population on the health care (actually sickness care) system is to support higher rates of earlier death through eliminating protections against infectious disease.
Real health care would make sure people of all ages had safe housing, nourishing food, and a supportive social environment. Not to mention a flourishing ecosystem.
I guess Peter Martyn wasn't around in the 1960s when the kids were having nightmares about nuclear annihilation? Or the 1940s when Europe was being blown up, or the 1910s .... The kids are the future, let's support them in their fight.
And two more words to ponder: species extinction.
Although I was very sad to see a strip of wildflower meadow virtually annihilated by keen grass cutters. It screened the trail along Dartmouth Cove from the chain link fence between the trail and the railway track and was like a wildflower garden.
