The problem with twitter is that I do not believe that it falls under information that can be recalled under a FOI. Politicians who use twitter accounts especially if they are using it for government business or political views should have those accounts managed/monitored so that they can't erase tweets. I have seen this happen when a politician has lost their faculties.

Wonderful so I'll get taxed on a tax. I am already taxed on a sidewalk that doesn't exist on my street. So now I'll be taxed for plowing the street that doesn't exist on my street. Seems legit! The tax system needs an entire overhaul.

    Re: “Pretty pathetic
"I can assure you that they don't cheap out when it comes to fixing up the campus."

Of course not they are public sector and as we know all services public sector pay for is overpriced...why...becasue they can afford it! Let's see what gets cut with what $17mil shortfall next year. I work as a contractor for a public sector entity and the amount of fucking waste is absolutely disgusting. Our tax money being spent on stuff that many private companys wouldn't even dream of. Tendered contracts that seem to get extended and the costs get run up like crazy. I watch dead weight after dead weight playing solitaire or spending half their day on facebook, who are grossly over paid. The other day when it snowed all of two inches half of the staff took a paid vacation day. Pathetic! Public sector jobs are like winning the lottery to us working grunts who understand what it means to put in an honest days work.

While I agree with arguments on both sides of the coin, the reality is if the city wants development, they get it. It will take a huge ground swell of residents to stop something like this. MPSs are a bunch of crap, as long as developers are continually allowed to apply for changes. The city doesn't need public consultation to deny any application to change the MPS. They have the power to simply deny any application outside of the plan. They allow the constant stream of applications because HRM only sees the $$$$ signs. They expect people to not show up to these public meetings...the less opposition the better.
