Why can't they just use similar dispensers they have at the movie theaters for pop? They dispense the exact amount right into the cup whether it be overpriced, diabetes inducing small, medium, or large.
Wow! What a narrow minded and poorly presented article and argument - presuming there is an actual argument there. All I read is an opinion piece about one side of a story. Poor reporting technique to say the least. The comment "It may also ease congestion on the highway routes to and from downtown which could promote more traffic" is absurd to say the least. How can it ease congestion while promoting more traffic?!? Seems like a bit of a contradiction. And if congestion is eased, how does that directly relate to "speeding and all of those undesirables." First off, what are those undesirables you write of? Where are your studies of traffic patterns supporting your view? Idiocy and lack of concern for traffic laws promotes speeding, not lack of congestion.
Yes, "Many accustomed to a lifetime of car commuting will not give up door to door convenience", but then again MANY WOULD! And this is the reason for exploring the possibility of a commuter rail system.
