As a longtime fan of the Coast, I am saddened to see this puff piece classified as news, when the headline and the piece itself present a clear defence of the actions of Dr. Walsh. Its shoddy journalism not befitting the Coast's standards. Dr Walsh claims to be clueless about the COVID crisis in Nepal, when there were over 500,000 cases in the country at that time, a highly publicized world crisis in India and surrounding countries. Also, he travelled there during a lockdown that prevents many of us from visiting family in adjoining cities, no less travelling to a country wracked with disease and in need of donations. Great that Everest helps tourism, but there are other more direct ways to help the country.
