Let me start by rating the food. My spouse had the fish and chips and I had the selfish shellfish. The fish and chips was average and nothing to write home about and the selfish shellfish was excellent.

Unfortunately that was the only good thing about my wife and my dining experience. After waiting a few minutes to get seated, we sat down and started reading the menus. We selected a couple of drafts for drinks and were served within a reasonable timeframe. After this it was all downhill... We reviewed the menu.... And sat there for a very long period of time.... At one point I said how long is this going to take to my wife. She said maybe they're busy and I said the place is not that busy. A few minutes later we saw another table get served that arrived a long time after us. Did she forget us.... At this point we had been waiting at least 45 minutes since receiving or drinks and no sign of the waitress coming to see us. So we decided to ask another waiter to get our waitress to come to our table. A few minutes later she shows up at our table and says that she completely forgot about us... I mean what..... Seriously.... Pure incompetence, I couldn't believe it. Ok. So at this point I would have expected something along the lines of "can I serve you folks a couple more drinks" because our drinks were completely gone at this point "and by the way is on the house"..... But I guess customer service is not what is taught when signing up to work at Stayners. Instead there was nothing said to us other than to take our order and to serve us tap water that had no ice and was room temperature. My wife was appalled at this point. We finally placed our order and waited for our food. The food did come about a half hour later and i have my feedback above for the food.
At this point after spending at least an hour and a half more than expected at this restaurant we lost a big part of our evening which was to be spent walking the waterfront together and visiting the shops.
The waitress brought the bill as if nothing happened and that was enough for me. I said to her that after all we have put up with this evening ruining our evening out you're not going to do anything about it. She said there was nothing she could do. So I said did you ask and she hadn't even discussed this situation with the manager so I said can you please talk to your boss because this is unacceptable. She left and came back and said that he knocked 15% off and that all they can do... Wow I said, this is how patient customers are treated here. So I paid my bill and here I am.
During this conversation I had to ask her her name on multiple occasions and finally she said her name was Stacy. Funny that on the bill it says KC and yes I heard her say Stacy... I don't think she wanted me to know her name for some reason. She told me the managers name is Jessie. I hope that's correct.
If you want a restaurant with good food AND good service i recommend avoiding this place as the staff and sadly management do not know what good customer service means.
