it's a ritual to act out issues of shame, power, and control. it has the adverse impact of perpetuating the cycle of shame, creating the illusion of power, and strengthening the psychological defenses that keep people bound in spiritual sickness. that would be my best guess.
Well, Jesus, while I may WANT to have sex without attachment for the pure pleasure of sex, I've come to understand that I CAN'T. Not because of what he might think of me or what society might think of me but on account of the fact that my sex is a powerful force, a valuable gift, and a sacred act that also has emotional, spiritual, and psychological impacts. I have deluded myself into thinking otherwise from time to time, but my experience has taught me otherwise and so i don't recommend playing fast and loose with horny boys to anyone. Amen.
