The real problem with our system is that it monetizes human worth. We are not commodities, and neither is our labour. Human beings should not be valued based on their ability to contribute to capitalism. We are inherently valuable based on the mere fact that we are human beings. We should not have to be productive in order to be seen as deserving of life.
With that being said, I'm just gonna go ahead and make a disclaimer: I am not a communist and communism sucks hairy cactus balls. But I don't have to be a communist in order to see that our system is broken.

Bruh, the first thing my mom taught me was that I was not to EVER go near the road unless holding her hand or that of another guardian's/chaperone's. Well, that and the good ol' "Hands are for helping, not hurting" schtick. If you ingrain the fact that running out into traffic means big big BIG trouble for them, whether or not they get hurt, they tend to catch on fast. Kids might be stupid (no shade on kids, that's just the truth) but they generally prefer not to get into trouble if they can help it.
I think it has to do with safety. Can you imagine how much money they would have at that terminal if they started selling bus tickets? it'd become an easy target unless they started shelling out the big bucks for security and whatnot. Best to get the tickets at drugstores where they already have all that stuff set up.
