Re: “What happened to Santina Rao in a Halifax Walmart should never happen again

I got to wonder what went down before the police officers arrive on the scene.

Re: “One step closer to Uber, baby, is one step closer to you

Adding rideshare at this stage will NOT solve the problem that exists in the taxi industry for the last several decades. it will only complicate it more. Taxis and ridesharing share the same operational model. Both their drivers are independent operators of their umbrella entity. They are within their means of setting their own works hours at any given hours/day of the week

This will only flood more conventional vehicle's onto the industry when we need more accessible "ride for hire" vehicles. HRM recently approved the addition of 600 conventional roof-light taxi licenses on top of the existing 999 licenses. On the same note, there are less than 24 active accessible roof-light licenses taxi operators

let's wait until HRM completely issued the 600 new roof-light conventional taxi licenses first before allowing active ridesharing

Re: “ID is ID

No need for name calling or belittling of the waitress for not recognizing the fact that a military ID card is, in fact, a federal gov't document. It shows a lack of training of her employer and the province to produce a list of recognized provincial and governmental ID card. I once corrected a doorman/security officer at the Casino Nova Scotia when they were at their old location for failing to recognize a military ID card at the door. I, in turn, produce my tempory military ID card as I had joined the Canadian army just earlier that same year.

Re: “Councillor not pleased municipal money spent on Trudeau's town hall

I was in attended, and as a wheel citizen, I so love the fact that his details roped off and used six well marked accessible parking spaces just meters away from the main spectator entrance of the facility? With a large number of people with mobility issues in attendance including myself, we could have made use of these parking spaces

Re: “Halifax taxis turn to tech

cameras have be need long time ago as well as trouble light and other safely equipment but in the end everything come back to the same primary issue . all taxi drivers in a greater HRM are independent. other then the weekly fee to the office for use of the radio and meters which mostly of time they cover the cost of installing , all other expenses are the drivers
