If i was jogging (for some reason) and came down with a nose bleed, I'd be too embarrassed and would hope nobody would stop to see if I was okay... unless I was on the verge of passing out or something. That would be my frame of mind if I came across someone else with a bleeding nose. It's not because I'm an inconsiderate asshole but because I'm being considerate. My thought process might be out of whack but that's how I think when I put myself in other people's shoes.
There is one particular gate that 90% of the time doesn't open when we drive to it (we avoid it now, after making the mistake too many times). It's clearly not a problem with the MacPass since it doesn't happen to the ones we always go to. So yeah, this is a worthy bitch methinks.
But if you tell them you can't afford whatever it is they're asking for, you MUST let them try to make you feel guilty for whatever luxury you might have, big or small, because that's what they do once you engage with them. They don't take no for an answer and you have to be rude with them if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself responding to them. I tried to be nice too but I quickly gave it up when I realized the types of leeches they are. I don't need people like that trying to make me feel guilty. If I want to give my money to a cause, it's going to be a cause *I* believe in, not a cause they get $13/hr to believe in.
I refuse to buy bottled water because (a)it tastes worse than tap water, considering the plasticy taste on most bottled waters, and (b)I'm cheap. I can go get tap water almost anywhere and if I can't, I'll just buy something else.
Unfortunately for me, that has meant I'm drinking something sweet when I probably shouldn't be but the idea of buying water is beyond me and I refuse to do it when I already paid the water bill at home for this period.
If an establishment refuses me water after I've already purchased drinks or whatever, I can simply not come back. It's not always about being cheap on the part of the customer/guest but if that's how you want to look at it, sure. Whatever.
I mean that in the sense of - why is it so bad that both sides benefit from something like that? People bitch when a business benefits from the publicity after giving money to a charity (who obviously benefits). Ok. So had that company done nothing, they wouldn't benefit from the attention and the charity would have nothing. Then there'd be nothing to bitch about? Oh, I'm sure there'd be something... for some people, there's always something stupid to bitch over.
Whoever that celebrity was could have left nothing. Instead, she left $500. Good on whoever it was!
