A friend of mine (who is a nurse) was visiting her father in hospital after surgery. He had the hiccups, which apparently is common and she asked the doctor to give him something to relax him… they gave him Haldol, which is an antipsychotic drug. It got rid of the hiccups alright, he was a drooling mess for three days. Turns out the unit has a history of overmedicating an understaffed department.
Since moving to Halifax from PEI two years ago, I have encountered several people who think it’s hilarious to call me Bud the Spud and Anne. They are condescending and crack jokes about being sent away to deepen the gene pool. I don’t assume that everyone here is ignorant and rude, I suggest you try to be the same.
Kay – I think your step-father’s issue had more to do with religion than region.
If prostitution becomes legalized and government regulated, I am assuming there would be regular health checks done on the workers. Would this be covered under Medicare or would they pay for these health care services out of pocket? I have never seen this particular aspect addressed in the argument to legalize in Canada.
Joe Howe to the Bedford highway is the same deal. Nothing ticks me off more then seeing my lane clear 200 feet ahead and some dildo in a land boat stopped looking to merge right.
