Tom MacDonald is a young environmental professional who aspires to help create sustainable communities through the application of ecological principles to human living. With a background in wind power, he was part of a team of engineering students who won 2nd place at New Mexico State University's WERC competition for their construction of a wind powered water purification system, and has since worked alongside world-renowned wind turbine designer Hugh Piggott. After graduating in 2009 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Dalhousie University, Tom now works at the Climate Change Centre at Clean Nova Scotia, where he specializes in Climate Change Adaptation research and education.
