This Canadian cultural figure adds to his legacy with vigour. The plywood stomping board has been retired and his energy is more Thursday night Legion than mining town booze-up. Still, he spins a yarn and turns a phrase with the best. "Rose of Silver Falls" drops a gypsy caravan into a one-horse town, forever changing a local boy's life. Oh, he remains a bit weird. "Chickee Pooh" aims to delight listeners under the age of four, with Tom's voice careening up and down like an oscillator. "Buctouche," "bush" and "Tatamagouche" are united in rhyme. The title tune is a five-minute autobiography. It's one of his longest, yet remarkably concise for such a life.
