Dawn Sloane is in the midst of her second term representing District 12, Halifax downtown, and has a laundry list of things that she’s helped accomplish and that keep her busy: Getting the Grand Parade “turned into a park instead of a parking lot,” sprucing up the George Dixon Centre, placing garbage cans in the downtown core, and getting that sculpture placed in front of the North End Library. She adds that the Public Gardens are “safe again” and free from vandalism, and that “at Queen and Spring Garden we’re looking at going ahead with the new public library.”
