Something we noticed in the wake of the coverage of Jared Taylor, who was shouted down while trying to give a speech at the Lord Nelson on Tuesday night. In the past, Taylor has authored documents that outline the merits of racial segregation in the US, and beyond.
Anyway....
In his words, Taylor describes himself as a 'race realist". In HIS words. Which is why we found the headline to the print version of the Chronicle Herald's cover story bugged us so much.
Check out out. Here's an example from the Canadian Press story posted on cbc.ca (note the quoted treatment of 'race realist'), and the Herald's Wednesday morning version. Looks like the Herald didn't have enough space on the line for a couple of ''s. Problem is, now it the Herald that is calling Taylor a 'race realist', not Taylor himself.
Just a little thing, but take heed: punctuation matters, y'all.
