All my friends, where did they go? To Pictou County, New Glas-gow!

After two roaringly successful years in Liverpool, Nova Scotia Music Week will move to New Glasgow for 2008. Makes sense, considering it’s the town that has spawned both JD Fortune and George Canyon.

“The Town of New Glasgow is very proud to be a partner with the New Glasgow Music Jubilee in helping bring Music Nova Scotia Week 2008 to Pictou County,” says a beaming Ann MacLean, mayor of N-Glazzy. “How fitting that this exciting opportunity that is testament to our music legacy should come during the 70th annual New Glasgow Music Festival, the longest running music festival of its kind in Canada.”

Pictou County has got to bring it hard---even an early winter blizzard that caused a town-wide power outage (interestingly, the lights at HQ, AKA White Point Beach Resort, stayed on) couldn’t quell NSMW last year. Keep an eye out for showcase info and award nominations in the next few months. Nova Scotia Music Week runs November 6 to 9.
