The Soundtrack of Our Lives has spent the last seven years releasing some of the best rock music of our time. While long adored by everyone from Oasis to Brad Pitt, it wasn’t until 2001 that the band made their stateside debut with Behind The Music. The album showed the group’s ability to write music good enough to place them as contemporaries with their influences, rather than just as hat tippers. Now the band has returned with Origin Vol. 1. The album is a more focused but slightly less dynamic offering. While BTM contained a variety of songs that all shone with unique qualities, Origin’s upbeat, mid-tempo rockers can at times blend together. Still, this is a great collection of songs from a band building a legacy.
