To mom, from mom

“In talking to moms that have children from newborn to seven, eight, nine years old—it doesn’t change that much,” says
Nicole Landry. “You’re thinking about everyone else’s needs and it’s very easy to forget about yourself.”

A Dartmouth-based new mom with a longtime interest in self-care and women’s health, she’s launching her quarterly subscription box—Oh Mother Care Kits—this Friday. Based on the seasons, her carefully assembled care kits will be packed with small batch, Canadian-made products, with a focus on no harmful dyes or chemicals.

“There are a lot of women like me who care about those things, it’s not just when you become a mother,” says Landry. “But when you have a baby blowing raspberries on your arm, you’re more aware.”

Oh Mother kits will be made up of treats like tea, chocolate, bath products, body butters, balms and facial oils and cleansers—a rotating variety of personal-sized goodies Landry has used herself, been recommended or found while scanning Etsy as she nurses her son. She admits mothers were top-of-mind when she came up with the idea a few months ago, but they aren’t the only ones who could enjoy a little box of TLC delivered to their doorstep.

“I thought, how amazing would it be to get something in mail, you don’t have to think about ordering or going to the store and you use it it when you can and when you have time,” she says. “I wanted it to be something be something personal. From one mom to another.”

Oh Mother’s website and shopping cart goes live at this Friday, opening up pre-orders for the early June delivery—a perfect Mother’s Day gift, perhaps?
