I am so disgusted with pretty much everybody's response to this recent tragedy in Paris. The ONLY appropriate sentiment or statement to make at this time is one of condolence and solidarity with the victims and their loved ones. I don't want to hear you spin this to push your political or personal narrative, WHETHER THAT FALLS ON THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM. You think you're making a difference? Go join the army, run for office, research the issue and decide for yourself what you can do to help the situation. Before fucking blood had dried in Paris my feed was flooded with a few people spewing bigoted, anti-islamic, xenophobic fear or hatred. But I think it's just as bad to immediately start lamenting that this tragedy shouldn't be used as a reason to promote islamophobia or whatever your personal or political cause is. It's in extremely poor taste EITHER WAY. We should just offer our condolences and keep our fucking mouths shut. Let the political leaders do their jobs. As someone who has friends living in Paris and other parts of France, it saddens and sickens me to see the loss of life, the destruction of families, the senseless slaughter of innocent people IMMEDIATELY used as a talking point to further a political narrative or view—again—REGARDLESS of what that view might be. It's just not the time or the place. I think I'm done with social media. People fucking suck. —TJ902
