What a Bachelor of Commerce can lead to

Enrique Hoyos
I'm an Account Coordinator with Trampoline Branding

I manage the development and execution of integrated marketing/advertising campaigns, and branding/identity projects for a variety of clients in many industries. I am the one who works with the clients directly, and translates their needs to our creative and production teams.

I liked economics originally, but took a marketing course, loved the professor and started to fall in love with the idea—and it turned into something I became very passionate about.

My education was key, but also important was the program's inherent push for us to network, meet people and open doors. I actually got this job through Saint Mary's, as I was invited to the President's Dinner, and I was seated at a table with Trampoline. I still remember my first day: I sat in on a meeting as they were pitching one of their biggest clients. They were discussing details and topics for what would be a huge victory for our company...and I had no idea what was going on.

This is a great career for me because I don't see it as a job; I see it as a learning opportunity and something I look forward to every day.

I highly recommend branding yourself. I started my own company, and it showed employers I wanted to succeed and I am willing to put myself out there. Not everyone needs to start a business, but being able to create—and build—your personal brand is a big plus.
