Grab a sweater and jeté your way to the waterfront near the corner of Lower Water and Salter to Liliona Quarmyne's Inside- Outside: the Dance of the Box. Quarmyne presents an interactive dance piece that promises a fun and engaging communal experience. Quarmyne says her piece can be explored in different ways including through audience participation. "It has room for interaction no matter your level of dance experience and exposure," she says. "It blurs the line between self and community, between audience and performer, between the boxes that we all move through daily."

Quarmyne was inspired to choreograph Inside-Outside by her everyday experience as a modern woman who juggles multiple roles and responsibilities. She is an artist, a mother, a partner, a feminist, a teacher, an activist, a traveller and a doula.

"It came out of a moment, an instant of awareness when I acknowledged that I, like many others, am constantly jumping from one box to another," she says. "I'm constantly navigating, continually moving into and out of many different worlds each day." Quarmyne says she is inspired by art that asks tough questions and voices things nobody wants to say. In Inside-Outside, she asks herself, "What happens if I fall?"
