With the news of a hiatus on the horizon–Exclaim! reported that Nancy Urich and Seth Smith, the duo behind Dog Day, are taking some time away from the band to focus on being 100 percent kickass parents of their new child–this win is bittersweet. May we never again hear another sweet album of this calibre? “We’ll be back soon playing and making new sounds,” says Urich. “Maybe after the summer.” In the meantime, Smith is collaborating remotely with Chad VanGaalen, making music that will doubtlessly be our new dream soundtrack of 2014.
