Give it prime land all around the halifax harbour and bedford basin, so we can get all utilities to water developments.
Give it a highway, not one of those traffic jammed poor excuses of a highway. Make this a real highway that is designed to move traffic around the harbour much like a highway moves traffic around the Pearson Airport.
Give it a greenbelt. And a walking trail.
Allow bicycles on the walking trail, and for the first time in the history of HRM, cyclists from any 'point A' can commute to any 'point B' location....with over 80% of their commute on non-road trails, reducing accidents and improving flow. Wouldn't that be dandy?
Maybe someday, a subway(not the restaurant) or LRT system can follow the same corridor. —dreamer
