The gracious and elegant Monica Bauché easily snags top honours in the Maitre d’ category again this year. Fid is a temple of fine dining and Monica, the watchful Goddess of Hospitality. The first time I ate at Fid, I asked for a cranberry and soda, which seemed to take a while. The server explained that they didn’t have any cranberry juice, but that Monica had gone to buy some for me. With personalized service like that, why wouldn’t she be top Maitre d’?
