The Terror, we all have something to soundtrack a horrific existential meltdown. The Terror follows in the haunted, proggy footsteps of 2009’s
Embryonic, but contains far less stoned rocking and much more solipsistic, anxious meandering. The album works for the most part, as it’s easy to get lost in tracks such as the swirling “Be Free, A Way,” but some spots drag on far too long. These moments notwithstanding, The Terror is still a stirring experience that further demonstrates the band’s willingness to defy expectations.
