Chances are you'll find yourself on your own trip down memory lane with the five quirky characters in Daniel MacIvor's reunion comedy Bingo!. Even if their reminiscences are not from your high school era, MacIvor speaks in big truths about youth, longing, belonging and vulnerability. Dookie (Marty Burt) is the golden bully boy, Nurk (John Beale) is the compassionate nerd, Heffer (Ryan Rogerson) is the lovable under-achiever, Boots (Emmy Alcorn) is the misunderstood misfit and Bitsy (Heather Rankin) is the socially-stunted shy girl. What's fabulous about this play is that it's a comedy that begins with familiar stereotypes, yet transcends them to create characters one can identify with and root for. Part of that fabulousness is achieved through great writing, and part is achieved through delicious performances, and it all adds up to must-see theatre. —Kate Watson
