You’re certifiably Halifamous when there’s a band named after you. And you’re not even dead. Although Stephen Cooke prefers to stay on the writer and fan side of the local scene, he does enjoy the musical prowess of Stephen Cooke and the Respected Halifax Journalists. Don’t worry, Peter Duffy and Marilla Stephenson aren’t on back-up---the band is made up of members of Scribbler and The Lampshades. At least Cooke gets to stay for the whole show---often he has to run out of concerts he’s reviewing to make the Herald’s deadlines. “I’m often still writing as the last notes are being played,” he laughs.
