It was a beautiful Saturday spent with my family, including a lovely brunch and a trip to the beach. Cecily's parents were coming over to my parents house for supper to have a "belated birthday dinner" for her. I was nervous when we were walking at the beach that afternoon and Cecily advised me to chill out, all would be fine. Little did I know how nervous she was at that moment!
Later that evening, while I worried about the beer getting cold enough, quickly enough, both families, my siblings included, were in on the secret. At one point during supper, Cecily picked an eye lash off of my check and said "Make a wish!" Things had been going so well between us and there had been lots of planning for the future so I quietly wished that Cecily would ask me to marry her, thinking, sometime in the next year would be great! Imagine my shock when, 5 minutes later, Cecily stood up at the table and began speaking in a sweet and shy voice while reaching into her pocket!
Of course I would marry her!!! The room broke out into smiles and hugs, followed by champagne and cake. So lovely to share the moment with so many loved ones!
