Halifax and summer go together like picnics and
Sunshine Delivery. One Wednesday a month
Jessica Ross and
Ben Gallagher ride their bikes around town delivering homemade grub. Last week was their official summer picnic edition, featuring a three salad medley---purple cabbage coleslaw with creamy vinaigrette, classic potato salad, green onions, pickles and all, and zippy bean salad adorned with red onion and carrot. A choice of barbecue pork ribs slathered in smokey Q sauce and a cheese biscuit, or for the veggies grilled BBQ tofu. All plates are $10. Other treats included raspberry cake with maple whipped cream ($4) and sweet iced tea ($1) or a long island variety ($5). Delivery runs are 6pm-7:30pm and 7:30pm-9:00pm. If by chance they are a tad behind, it's well worth waiting around. Check out the "Sunshine Delivery Trio: Picnic Edition" Facebook group or email
