At Maples Gallery (Bishop's Landing, 1475 Lower Water Street, 405-7050), the place is stuffed with work by Canadian artisans, pieces limited in production and availability.

For example, Pamela Kinsman from Windsor NS, has made one- of-a-kind wineglasses and coffee cups handpainted in jewelled tones of blue, purple, fuchsia and white with gold or silver hues. The cups are $30, wine glasses $35.

Mella Roman out of Oakville ON creates hand-painted glass art inspired by the ocean, including platters, bowls, wineglasses, martini glasses, with prices starting at $25.
