Not sure who to vote for? There's an app for that

Get the low-down on all the candidates for Halifax Regional Council via The Coast's election app.

There are 16 districts in Halifax Regional Municipality. They stretch from Hubbards to Ecum Secum and life inside each one chugs along at its own unique pace.

Every four years each district decides who will represent it at the decision making table that is Halifax Regional Council. Decision time is now, and with a record-breaking number of candidates running in many districts, it's hard to know just who you should vote for on October 15.

To help, The Coast has asked each candidate a number of yes or no questions—have you ever had a job where you used an industrial mop? Should Halifax defund the police? Do you have a Halifax Transit bus pass?—desigend to let readers know who candiates are, what they stand for and what kind of experiences they've had in their lives that will influence how they work as an elected representative.

And to make sure you know as much as you can before casting your vote, The Coast built a mobile-friendly app for you to learn more about the candidates in your district. We've also added our one-on-one interviews with each candidate to their profile which you can also read by district here.
