You officially have things to look forward to as Mayworks Halifax moves online

Twelve, to be exact.

Mayworks Halifax—the festival celebrating workers and the arts—isn't gonna let COVID-19 hold it down. The annual event—which kicks off tomorrow and has socially distant programming available all month long—is rife with the sort of content that makes you feel seen and helps you learn about the labour movement. Even better? It's a slice of normalcy delivered to us amidst our current untethered state.

What sort of stuff can you expect from this year's fest? A playlist of movies from the National Film Board on a smattering of subjects from media and consumerism; A series titled "Voices from the Pandemic: COVID-19 and work" that shares diaries of working life in the time of coronavirus; A livestream sing-along session with all-levels chorus The Big Sing and a digital mixtape titled "Hip Hop vs Captialism" that promises to be the riot-ready playlist you need.
