Part of the mastery of this, says Ross, is knowing which kinds of things people want to see on certain platforms. “I’ve been doing this every day for five years,” says Ross, “I’ve learned what my people are into.” A big part of it is her simple desire to get people outside, into the city and province and—she knows this is ironic—off the internet. She says she keeps Halifax Noise running “so that people just go out and have a good time.”
