Your love is better than ice cream, according to Darrell’s boss man Dan Joseph, who’s been perfecting those thicker-than-all-get-out shakes for a quarter century and change. He says hearing positive feedback from customers is what he works for even 26 years in. “Some people get to a certain point where they rest on their laurels and let it ride. But after all those years it makes me want to work harder.” Case in point: You won’t be slurping these shakes through plastic straws ever again, this month Darrell’s will officially be 100 percent plastic-free.
