Club Soda pops

New eatery and nightclub on Prince Street

If you’ve been downtown the past few weeks you’ll have noticed that the new Club Soda (5287 Prince Street, 407-8994) has become very popular in a very short time. Though they only opened August 12, manager Mike Hawkins, who runs the place with Mike Conforti, says the weekend crowds have filled the place. It’s quite changed since it was Bubbles Mansion, with a much more open concept bar space and a much friendlier eatery area, filled with picnic benches and a bright pink and purple colour scheme and a digital jukebox giving it a summer-at-the-beach vibe.

You’ll notice they’re part of the same group that owns The Toothy Moose and Bubba Ray’s Sports Bar because Bubba’s wings are on the menu here, too, along with a selection of pub grub, nachos, sandwiches, salads and even deep fried pickles. And though the nightclub side has taken on a life of its own, they “want to make the restaurant as busy as it can be,” says Hawkins. The kitchen is open every day from 11:30am-9pm, and the nightclub starts hopping Thursday through Saturday from 10pm to 2am.

Starting this Tuesday, the nightclub will also be opening with Z103 broadcasting live-to-air 10pm to midnight, followed by a DJ. Thursday its DJ Cam Harding playing house, Friday it’s DJ Savory playing hip hop, retro, funk and more, and Saturday is “all over the place,” alternating Jay Andrews (DJ and percussionist) and DJ Stiles. And ladies get in free every night they're open.
