Al Tuck vs. Shotgun Jimmie vs. Fred Squire

The three artists duke it out to the death this weekend at The Company House.

"We're going to be fighting to the death," says Jim Kilpatrick, AKA Shotgun Jimmie, when asked about the "three rounds, straight rules" Facebook description of his Saturday night show with Al Tuck and Fred Squire. Even if fighting to the death is only metaphorical---Jimmie's playing The Company House show because he wanted to book something with Squire after their show July 2 in Sackville, New Brunswick, not because he is looking for bloodshed---the show's going to be a solid set of what Jimmie will bring to Sappyfest at the end of July. The local indie man is just coming off a European tour, where he says he spent a good chunk of time writing new songs for an album he'll record at the end of the summer with producer Diego Medina. "I'm going to be playing some of them at this Company House show," says Jimmie, adding that he's going back to his European muse for a festival in Slovakia the couple weeks before Sappyfest. Keep an eye out for his new album in early 2011, but for now satisfy your Shotgun craving Saturday night with what Jimmie promises to be a "life-changing experience."
