The Numbered Head

A four-piece patchwork of musicians from all over the Maritimes.

“The salt of Halifax has kept the band tough and robust,” says bassist Mark Gale. “The water of Halifax keeps us wet.”

After laying the foundation for the band in 2007, it wasn’t until last winter the four-piece project came into its own. As a patchwork of Maritimers who gather from all over the region---The Numbered Head consists of Jamie Bowlin on drums, Eamon Clancy on guitar and Michelle Skelding on vocals---the band is a force of musical nature.

“Lyrics are influenced by Eamon’s alien abduction, Jamie’s drinking too much and Mark’s love of shooting people in the head with his Wii,” says Gale. “Michelle also firmly believes that the TAARP project in Alaska run by the military has been focussing their radar waves specifically at her house with unknown consequence similar to the neurological effects of toxoplasmosis brain worms sitting in half the population’s grey matter.”
