Beautifully clear and understandable writing on a complex subject

Congratulations to Tim Bousquet for "Doolittle, Darwin and the 'deeply dumb'" (October 8). What beautifully clear and understandable writing on a complex subject.

Anyone who denies the fact that all plants and animals alive today, including ourselves, evolved from other forms of life over hundreds of millions of years, please read Jerry Coyne's book Why Evolution is True and Richard Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth. Professor Coyne teaches at the University of Chicago and is one of the world's leading experts on how new species originate. Professor Dawkins is a fellow of New College at Oxford University, and has written widely acclaimed books on evolution.

The evidence for evolution is indisputable, and the arguments of those who claim otherwise without having made the effort to properly inform themselves about what this evidence is, cannot, with respect, be taken seriously.—David Blackwell, Bedford
