So what is up with these second-hand/thrifty stores and their ridiculous pricing? The items in these stores were donated to them. A lot of the donations coming from the very people who shop there. Clothing items are priced as much as if bought in a retail store. In a retail store I do not have to check for stains, tears or missing buttons on an item. Some of these second hand stores calls themselves "boutiques" and charge even higher prices! Often smaller new items cost more than if bought new in retail store! (Who prices these items?) Most people who shop at second-hand stores are looking for a bargain, they can afford to shop elsewhere. Maybe we should stop thrift shopping for awhile and start donating our clothing to church or other non-profit. Then they’ll get the message we are not stupid! —Lynn
