HRM is about to make artists' lives a lot easier. Instead of having to fill out those annoying Requests For Proposals each time you want to apply for a publicly funded project, sign up for the new Artist Registry. Over the next couple of months, HRM Cultural Affairs is going to be looking for "artists, designers, musicians, performers and creative producers of all disciplines" for a Temporary Public Art Program, which will "provide installations that animate civic spaces and critically engage the public realm." So sign up now. (Note: The RFP process will still be used for "large-scale permanent public art projects and temporary installations of significant cost.")
To submit to the Registry all you need is a CV or record of exhibition history, a statement of interest in the Temporary Public Art Program and a statement of practice (particular area of interest and/or expertise). Easy-peasy.
Submissions should be made, preferably by email, to: [email protected]. "Temporary Public Art Registry" should be placed in the subject.
