“I want to thank all the readers of The Coast who voted for Once and Kim’s Convenience,” says Neptune’s artistic director George Pothitos. “What a thrill it was to hear about it. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure putting this special musical together. Our production [of Once] was the very first Canadian regional production of the show outside the United States and I am very proud of the work we all achieved.” These awards come in the midst of Pothitos’ last season at Neptune, where he has been steering the ship since 2009. “For the past nine years the shows have given a voice to many of the region’s most talented artists. I am very proud of that,” he says, going on to thank Neptune’s audiences, staff, board members, sponsors and donors. “I am grateful for your steadfast support and enthusiasm,” he says. “Where would we be without you? So, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and I bid you all a gracious adieu.”
