Re: “Risk of collapse for student decks

The new deck rules are blunt tools, and could use some more specific guidelines.

As it is, I was told that my deck which can hold 2 perhaps 3 people if they are friendly, needs the structural support to hold a minimum of 40 people.

The inspector knew this was ridiculous, but rules are rules...

Re: “University without any diversity

So go to another school and stop bothering us about it; what do you want done? White people to sponsor all the not white people to go to school? It's not our problem, it's your problem.

Re: “Masuma Khan is making history

Given you've denied comments on her most recent actions, I'll comment here. Dal is well within its rights to take action against her; it's not a racial issue.

I can help but wonder if your inflammatory article will only fuel the halted and fear of those who are Arabic (Muslim, Christian or otherwise).

Re: “Welcome to Harbourdale

So I was going to come and troll ... well actually you trolled, I was going to point out that the only 2 people I know that went to King's college was a woman that didn't have "traditional intelligence" and a rich kid who's dad sent him there after he was caught shop lifting. She went on to work for a gossip newspaper and he went on to direct porn. However, no point, this place is more dead than a cemetery. This is nice, like my own private website. I could keep a diary here and nobody would read it.

Re: “Four research projects in Halifax worth knowing about

What interesting and relevant projects, all four of them! I hope we can get an update at some point to see what advances have been made. Thanks for sharing these!

Just what we need, another left-wing SJW getting a platform.

Re: “Trips by Transit offers a free pass to outdoor adventure

I can't believe that you guys didn't include the Rte 55 in Dartmouth, which drops you off along several spots on the Shubie Canal, and Shubie Park. Dartmouth Crossing is a quick jaunt across the park away, to grab a movie or a meal after your adventure, then grab a 56 back down to the Bridge Terminal.

Re: “Wade Smith’s Afrocentric legacy

Such a divisive topic when it comes to race, yet we are okay with a whole variety of alternative schools. We have An entire French School Board in Nova Scotia which recognizes the injustices down to the Acadians and unless you have a Francophone parent you CANNOT attend, We have Muslim schools, and Catholic schools, we have school that cater to athletes, and single gender schools, For some reason when we have the audacity to suggest that we move from an Eurocentric paradigm , people lose their minds. Afrocentricity does not EXCLUDE anyone . People are under the assumption that an Afrocentric school is only for Black kids, WRONG! An Afrocenric school offers an alternative lens, one that is just as important as the traditional Eurocentric lens that places European culture at the center! What exactly are people afraid of or offended by? It is time to share the privileged of being at the center of your own learning. We have long recognized that African Nova Scotians have been under served in the current system, we do all sorts of training , we have all kinds of programs, and yet we still are at the bottom of the achievement gap.We need to have a good hard look at our approach to these problems

Re: “Landlord licensing: a solution to shitty landlords?

This would have been great a few years ago when I had a landlord kick me out for two weeks, rip apart the walls to replace the electrical (Had to be done which I was cool with, but they I was told 1 week, it turned into 2 without notice, they left the mess there for me to clean up), then leave me without water for 10 days, without heat for a month, changed the hot water tank from oil to electric and put it on our bill when hot water was supposed to be included, and left barely patched holes throughout the place until I left a year later when they decided to raise the rent by 100$ a month and take hot water out of the lease.

Re: “The realities of dating as a queer minority

^For my homies up here: There's a difference between having a preference in people you're dating and choosing not to date someone solely because of their race. Why wouldn't you date someone of a certain color? The reasoning would most definitely be based upon racist stereotypes so let's #NEXT on that one. As for the buddy talking about generalization, you just generalized black men by saying they fetishize young blonde white girls so again #NEXT
