Re: “Can't we just be nice to everyone

Retail is one tough job especially when dealing with self-entitled arseholes who channel their anger at a minimum wage worker. All I can suggest is making sure your manager has your back - that's so important in dealing with unreasonable schmucks. Kudos to you for doing a job most of us couldn't stomach.

Re: “Washroom alcohol drinker

I don't give a shit who gets drunk or where - as long as I don't have to step over 'em, I'm good.

Re: “Point Pleasant Park and dog owners

Can't say I've ever had any of these experiences at Pt Pleasant, I always take the dog friendly trails, There is signs everywhere, I tend to be introverted and have anxiety, Dogs for the most part pick up on humans emotions and feelings, and I feel they seek out similar people to their owners, to help them bond with people. I had a dog on my street that escaped it's fenced in yard and followed me for several blocks, Whenever it would escape I would have it follow me back to its home, It was a young dog and not very obedient, but it listened to me. Her very introverted owners, always seemed very cool to me, I loved cars and they had these vintage diesel Mercedes cars, a refreshing change from the boring beige CRV's of my street, I ended up bonding with these people so strongly and found out they were a lot like me in so many little ways. Dogs just want people to make actual friends and be social, they like loyalty, I don't even own a dog and never have.

Re: “Cape Breton = shit hole

Nova Scotia is a joke and always will be. Backwards politics and Cape Breton sucks up to hHalifax so counselors can keep their lousy jobs. My counselor does nothing for my district and I would throw him off my step if he came around. Nicest people around but nooo.. motivation. Residents and government blow off great corporations that could change this island within 5 years but they than complain why there is no work. Politics my friends. Always was and always will be the least desirable place to live. VISIT yes. I love the landscape and the climate. Too bad the young people have to leave because of a lazy non motivated municipality who cannot make one decent decision. Shame on you. Good day!

Re: “Washroom alcohol drinker

Alcoholism, as with other substance use problems, is a disease and recognized as a disability.

Most alcoholics aren't that way by choice, it's an illness.

Really big of you to shame someone with a disability.

Re: “Can't we just be nice to everyone

Never let the bastards get you down.

Working in retail can be tough, a lot tougher than most people give you credit for. Just try to remember that despite the negative people, there are people out there, like me, that appreciate the kind greeting, the helpful information, and a smile.

Keep up the great work and keep smiling! :)

Re: “Washroom alcohol drinker

She's obviously trying to hide it. She's probably ashamed as it is, and doesn't need you being an asshole about it. If she's not trashing the bathroom, leave her alone. It sounds like you're the one that needs to get a life. Alcoholism is awful. As for not going to bars, that's where social drinkers go. Alcoholics drink in mall bathrooms.

If she's not breaking any laws or rules mind your business and leave her to destroy her own life.

Re: “Stop Being Shitty to Homeless People

Right. I give my dough to a street person on Barrington & Prince. I go to Scotia Square to the liquor store. Guess who's standing in front of me?

Barrington & Prince. Guy's been sitting on the sidewalk for years. I give him money. Other people give him money. I go to the Scotia Square NSLC - guess who's standing in front of me?

Re: “Poverty Reduction Working Group

Whenever I hear people suggesting not to vote, it makes my blood boil. Sorry, folks, this social democracy is all we fucking have. Abdicating your vote means that the excessive lives of political vultures will be perpetuated. Thanks for that, you boneheads.

Re: “Blackmarket pot dealers must love the shitty service at NSLC

This is what happens when nonusers try to market & sell cannabis. Yep, you're absolutely right - the black market dealers are laughing all the way to the bank buried in their backyard. I tried the NSLC a few times and was severely disappointed by the quality and dryness (tinder) of their product. Hope edibles fare better.

Re: “Free the Leash

"There is room for all"

NO there isn't. You dog people don't make room for anyone but yourselves. You don't get that allowing your dog off leash, free to roam, run, bark, jump on people and in some cases attack other people or animals absolutely removes freedom of movement and reasonable enjoyment from everyone else in the park for your own selfish benefit.

There is NOTHING WORSE than trying to relax a bit in a park and just as you're about to "ZEN" from a stressful day, you suddenly have a loud, obnoxious fool and their dog completely invade your space. And then there's the dog piss and shit the vast majority of you leave behind for other people to walk through. It's disgusting.

The city FOOLISHLY designated many parks in Halifax to be off-leash dog parks. There are countless places for you to go. GO THERE.

Just because you "say" you have the right to go wherever you want and do whatever you want with your dog, and because you absolutely insist that anyone who doesn't like it is simply over-reacting absolutely doesn't make it so.
