5.05 Metres

26-year-old Yelena Isinbaeva just vaulted higher than anyone else in the history of everything. After two sloppy-looking attempts, the Russian gymnast gracefully arched over the bar placed 5.05m (16 feet) above the ground. So cool. I'm glad I got to see it. This was her 14th world record in gymnastics. Watch her break her own record in July at the IAAF World Athletics Tour. Here's an interview with her in May.

I missed the Olympics all weekend. I couldn't blog about it, because the internet was broken.
