Black Sheep bartender and Made With Love champ Marika Bouchard is normally the one causing next-day headaches, not fixing them. But she wants to help you poor souls who’ve over-indulged ring in 2018 feeling like a million bucks.

“Keep hydrated. Drink a lot of water while drinking and pound the water the next day,” says the cocktail expert, dispensing some advice for those expecting a hangover in the near future. “Caesars are a go-to for hair of the dog, but dry wines are good too. Stay away from the dark stuff—anything clear is good. The clearer you go, the cleaner it is.”

While her own cure usually includes loads of water, charcoal before bed and eggs the next day, Bouchard has created a detox tonic that you can knock back at home.

“You’ve got turmeric and ginger that’ll help with liver and nausea, a whole egg for fatty acid and protein, OJ for vitamin C,” she says of the mix. “And bacon for garnish.”

Here's her recipe for recovery:

Breakfast in bed

1 ½ oz vodka (optional)
1 whole pasteurized egg
¾ oz of turmeric syrup
1 ½ oz freshly squeezed orange juice
½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
Freshly grated ginger (to taste)

Option 1 (with bar tools)
Add all ingredients to shaker. Dry shake. Then wet shake. Double strain into a Collins glass. Top with ice and garnish with a strip of bacon.

Option 2 (at home)
Put all ingredients into a blender. Add a small amount of ice (to chill). Blend on low. Pour into a Collins glass add a strip of bacon garnish and enjoy.

For a vegan option try subbing coconut milk or fresh banana for the egg.
