“The very first one we did was Harry Potter trivia—and it blew up. We posted it for one night and we had to do it over three or four,” says Kat Adams, the Board Room’s GM, of the trivia night five years ago that started the downtown game cafe’s wildly popular themed trivia nights. Adams says it’s the specificity that keeps the nerds packing the cafe on the regular. “People get to really showcase how much they know about the thing they love. And it also gives people the opportunity to study.” Standouts she’s hosted in 2019 include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Disney and (of course) Harry Potter. Adams suggests folks start prepping their Tim Burton—The Nightmare Before Christmas trivia is slated for November 27.
