“In the beginning we didn’t think this would be something people would connect with on such a deep level, so it still shocks me sometimes,” co-host Brian Stever says of Sickboy, the four-time-winning podcast series helmed by himself and BFFs Jeremie Saunders and Taylor MacGillivary. “The reason why people connect with the show so deeply, I think, is that people who live with illnesses are used to being spoken to from a perspective of sympathy and sadness—and we realize people who live with illness are people too. We try to approach it from a different place, of normalizing conversations and treating them how you’d treat anyone else.”
