Speaking of food truck survival (see above), Bud is the oldest one in town thanks to the popularity of these paper bags of French fries. For 41 years this unforgettable white chip wagon has been pulling practically perfect hand-cut fries from its deep-fryer, usually while parked at its post on Grafton and Spring Garden where repeat customers perch along the old library wall. Though ownership’s changed over the years, Jody Leblanc is still passionate about using spuds from the bright red mud of PEI and serving them by the pile. Here’s to another year around the sun, and a repeat win in this category.
