Two If By Sea co-owner Zane Kelsall also co-owns Anchored Coffee, which is of course served by the steaming cupful at the cafe. While voters already think it’s the best, Kelsall’s goal is to make it even better. “We’re just trying to find consistent producers that we can have longterm relationships with and build a mutual understanding of the quality I expect,” says Kelsall. He notes that Anchored is in its fourth harvest now, and they have people they’ve been working with for every one of those four harvests. “That’s why I think we’re seeing—you know, every year there’s an exponential increase in the quality that we get out of the coffee.”
