Almost exactly one year ago, Rebecca O’Quinn made the decision to bet on herself. She left the tattoo studio she’d been working at—which was nice enough, but not the perfect fit—to go solo, hoping her love of her craft and fine arts background would help her make the (somewhat terrifying) leap. She shares this story, choking through tears of happiness, upon learning that she’s won Best Tattoo Artist in the city. With books filled until further notice, it’s clear the bet has paid off—much to the benefit of those who love O’Quinn’s delicate lines and illustrated style.
