There’s a reason that no matter what event is happening on the corner of Salter and Lower Water streets it’s still referred to as “the Jazz Fest parking lot.” It’s because nothing really compares to the brassy, bassy, body-moving power of the summer kick-off better known as the Halifax Jazz Festival. This year’s week of music appreciation brought acts like Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, tUnE-yArDs, The Budos Band, Moon Hooch—and locals like Alana Yorke, The Chronos Band and Anteater—to stages large and small across the city. We expect this snowball of summer awesomeness to up the ante once again next week.
